This blog follows the property market in Northampton with a particular emphasis on buy-to-let. On here you'll find general commentary about the market, plus properties that may represent decent buys. I own a large estate agency in Northampton and am myself a landlord with an established portfolio. If you're looking to invest, but are unsure what will work best, I'm happy to offer a (free) second opinion. If you have a property to sell I can help with that too! 2 bed house - well priced - ideal investment - £140k

I like the look of this as a potential investment, and it's the first thing for a few weeks that has really stood out. It is, co-incidentally, adjacent to a property that our maintenance team are currently refurbishing.

It's a 2 bed house (freehold) in Southfields which looks to be in decent internal order - no massive expenditure looks to be required on day 1. The age of the property means it's less likely to throw up the issues that a Victorian 2 bed might.
Most importantly it will rent quickly and easily - we have a number of similar 2 beds on the same estate - they will achieve £700PCM and are eternally popular.
The asking price of £139,995 is less than I'd have put it on for(!). It's cheap in comparison to other similar properties and I'd be pretty confident I could sell this for £10k more.
The details of the property are here : https://www.zoopla.co.uk/for-sale/details/photos/51364459 - you would need to arrange a viewing through the agent that's selling the property.
I'm more than happy to talk this through with anyone who's interested! richard.baker@belvoir.co.uk
